The mission of the Sanpitch CWMA is to identify, control and monitor noxious weeds within the Sanpitch region by bringing people and resources together. We believe that - together - we can make Utah greater.

We have limited cost share for eleven high priority weeds. If one of them is on your property, we may be able to help treat it.

The weeds we most want to hear about
Class 1A and 1B weeds are either not yet in Utah or present at very low levels. Spotting one early is worth more than years of treatment later.

What the weed classes mean
Early Detection Rapid Response
Plants not known to be in Utah, but thought to be present in neighboring states. If found in the state, swift eradication of any plants in this category is a very high priority.
8 listed 1BEarly Detection
Plants that occur in Utah at very low levels. It is a high priority to eradicate all known populations, and prevent new ones.
13 listed Class 2Control
Plants that have a reasonable distribution in Utah, but do not occur everywhere. These should be given a high priority for control.
12 listed Class 3Contain
Plants widely distributed in Utah. The current populations of these plants should be contained to halt their spread. These plants should not enter commercial channels.
16 listed Class 4Prohibited
Plants that are present in Utah, appear to be arriving in nursery stock or seed, and are being sold as ornamentals. This is now illegal.
5 listed BiocontrolBiological control agents
Insects, mites and pathogens released to suppress specific noxious weeds as part of an integrated weed management program.
